“Clutch in the Cornfields: Brian Campbell Captures John Deere Classic in Playoff Thriller”

Brian Campbell edged out Emiliano Grillo in a thrilling playoff to claim his second PGA Tour title at the 2025 John Deere Classic at TPC Deere Run in Silvis, Illinois. Both players tied the tournament record at 18-under par (266) after 72 holes, setting the stage for an electrifying sudden‑death showdown on the par‑4 18th hole

Campbell earned a $1.5 million winner’s share from the $8 million purse—just shy of the $1.44 million his predecessor Davis Thompson collected in 2024  . The payout not only rewards his clutch performance but also boosts his season earnings to a new career high.

The win capped a week in which five golfers finished tied or one stroke ahead of the pack, exemplifying how fiercely contested the event was.

In a tournament known for dramatic finishes, Campbell delivered the kind of storybook ending that defines golf’s most memorable moments—a composed playoff birdie to capture the trophy. With this victory, he not only walks away with a spectacular paycheck but also cements his reputation as a rising star capable of delivering under the biggest stage.
