Jared Mitchell is a former LSU Tiger best known for his heroics during the 2009 College World Series, where he was named Most Outstanding Player after helping lead LSU to a national championship. A rare two-sport athlete, Mitchell also won a BCS title with the LSU football team in 2007. He was selected 23rd overall by the Chicago White Sox in the 2009 MLB Draft and spent several years in professional baseball, reaching as high as Triple-A and later playing in independent leagues before transitioning into a career in media.
