The King Is Back: Dulac’s Jonathan Guidry Returns to the Ring in Kenner

Jonathan "The King" Guidry (21-1-2) of Dulac, Louisiana will be back in the ring as the main event of the 3rd Annual Les Bonano Classic. This event will take place on Friday October 17 at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner, LA.


The 35 year old heavyweight was last seen in the ring in April of 2024 scoring a brutal knockout of Bobby O'Bannon in Biloxi, MS. It was recently reportedly that Guidry who for years has been under the Don King promotional banner, is now a free agent, The King went on an absolute tear from 2022 to 2024 scoring wins against some of the top heavyweights in the US. His only defeat in that time was when he challenged for the WBA Heavyweight title, - split decision loss to undefeated Trevor Bryan.


The scheduled undercard is highlighted by 2 local fighters who were took surprising losses in their last bouts. Marcus McDaniel (17-2) from New Orleans and Garreth "The Lion" Payton (6-2). Both boxers will be looking to get back into the win column in separate bouts.


Undefeated cruiserweight Jacob "War Mode" Yamazato (5-0), also of New Orleans will look to keep his record unblemished on the undercards. The event is promoted by Bonano Boxing and Devin McGovern. Doors open at 6:00pm, with opening bell scheduled for 7:30pm.
