These Saints Uniforms Are Far From Heavenly

🚨 UNIFORM RANT INCOMING 🚨
The New Orleans Saints are this close—this damn close—to having one of the best (if not THE best) uniform collections in the entire NFL.
They’ve got an all-time classic look: black and gold, big clean fleur-de-lis, iconic helmet, and a color palette that literally no other team uses! But instead of leaning into that historic heat, what do they do?
They start getting creative in the worst possible way.
Black helmets with the faded fleur-de-lis "stripe" ? They look like a bootleg Madden create-a-team from 2008. The Saints helmet is supposed to be a symbol of the gloriousness of the man above. A golden centerpiece to act as a holy crown for the Blessed Boys and it should shine like a golden beacon of football fury—not fade into the abyss like a forgotten XFL League team. I'm all about a black helmet every once in a while, but those mini French stripes just ain't it, pal.

C'mon Bruh. Bringing Back Gold jerseys? Absolutely not. Those things look like they were inspired by a spray tan gone wrong. Leave that crap in the archives with the other 50 shades of gold pants, where it belongs. Are these dudes trying to execute a sweep play or sweep the concession stand after the game looking like middle school janitors wearing Dickies jumpsuits? The only thing worse than watching a Saints third quarter collapse is watching it while they’re dressed like glittery, half sucked Werther’s Originals.

These are THE fucking worst!
And the worst part? The fix is so easy!
Match the gold on the helmets to the pants and accents. Seriously. It’s wild that this still hasn’t been figured out in the past 25 years. Right now, it looks like three different teams are playing at once—like a fashion version of the miscommunication going on with a Dennis Allen led offense. The gold on the domes should set the tone for the rest of the uniform. Regardless of the jersey/pants combination, let the freaking colors be the same! It makes absolutely no sense that a stripe or a collar wouldn't match the actual hue of the helmet that the team is wearing. It should be UNIVERSAL!

Classic. Elegant. Saint-ly Bring back the '90s throwbacks with the state of Louisiana logo on the sleeves. Those were chef’s kiss. That’s heritage. That’s identity. That’s the kind of uniform that makes grown men cry in the Dome after a pick-six. It's an ode to when this franchise REALLY took off and started being relevant. Nothing would be sweeter than seeing our state with that sweet little star representing the crescent city on the shoulders! I'm even fine with bringing back a black jersey with white striped pants or a white jersey with black striped pants like Archie and the boys wore back in the 70s! Just anything, ANYTHING besides these atrocious gold things.

They may have played like Bums, but they sure didn't look like Bums.
I will give them credit though because their announcement of the white helmets (which will hopefully get featured with their color rush uniforms) was a much welcomed addition this season. But please, PLEASE, leave this fucking combo in the closet:

If the Saints would just stick to the classics and quit trying to reinvent the (broken) wheel, they could have the hardest drip in football. Better than the Bucs. Better than the Cowboys. Yes, even better than the Chargers' powder blues.
Until then, they’ll just keep fumbling the fashion bag—one ugly alternate at a time.
